She was born and raised on a ranch in Plains, Kansas, but relocated to the state of Texas to attend West Texas A&M University. There, she graduated cum laude in 2007 with a B.S. in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting. Shortly after, she attended law school at Texas Tech University School of Law where she clerked for the Law Office of Mark Snodgrass, helping with criminal defense, family law, and litigation. It was there where Taly realized her passion for defending men and women who have been wrongly accused of crimes they did not commit.
As she continued to work for Mark Snodgrass in Lubbock, TX, she spent her time becoming involved in multiple legal organizations. Taly was the President of the Lubbock Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and served on the board of the Lubbock Bar Association.
In 2016, Taly joined the Thiessen law Firm team alongside her husband and founder, Mark Thiessen.
